Best Commodities Broker, Western Europe: 2012
World Finance listed Tullett Brown as Best Commodities Broker, Western Europe in its 2012 Exchanges & Brokers Awards. The archived publisher's list, dated 22 February 2012, names the company in that category.
The current version of the publisher's list no longer includes Tullett Brown or a Western Europe entry under Best Commodities Broker. It does not explain that omission. The archive establishes the original listing, not the award's current status.
In my original account, I described an invitation to collect the award at a ceremony at the London Stock Exchange. The awards list does not establish the ceremony date or an endorsement by the exchange.
Other winners in the same published list included Credit Suisse, Citigroup, UBS and Goldman Sachs in their respective categories. Those names give context to the awards; they do not establish how Tullett Brown was assessed.
World Finance also published Tullett Brown's modern way of trading on 17 February 2012. The archived article discusses precious metals, carbon offsets and the company's reported growth. It records what the magazine published at the time, rather than independently verifying its financial figures or forecasts.
YouTube identifies the video linked from my original site as Tullett Brown, uploaded by Sssshani. Its title and uploader details alone do not establish an award or ceremony date.
My view: this recognition belongs in the account of the business I ran. The original site challenged coverage that reduced us to a stereotype and left out this part of the story. I want readers to see the contemporary material for themselves, without treating an award as an answer to every question about a company.
